Let’s talk about who MMAR is:
Rescue is our life 365 days a year. Helping when and where we can. We live a rollercoaster life, but would not trade it for anything. It is our passion to see animals just like this kitten to become healthy and find homes. We are a no kill rescue, registered with the state of Arkansas along with becoming a 501c3 in 2010.
Seeing what we see is heartbreaking and makes us furious at times. We do our best to be the voice, collect evidence, and make the abusers pay for what they have done to innocent animals that only ask to be cared for. Animals have laws, but getting some departments to take them seriously is another challenge we face.
What happens when an animal arrives?
Vaccines and wormer are started, depending on the condition of the said animal other care may be needed like a vet appointment asap. All animals receive vet appointments with emergencies coming first
Equine:
When we stepped off into the equine world we were floored at the number of equine needing help. The equine world has to be the evilest world there is for animals. Dumped at auction for a quick dollar bought by Kill buyers, and if not saved sent to Mexico for a brutal slaughter death. All for a dollar and even worse there are so called rescues making a living off innocent equine through donations. When you see MMAR helping equine you will notice 9 out of 10 we are helping the under dogs that no one else will step up for. Giving them little to no chance of being helped meaning slaughter is their future.
We are hero’s to some and hated by others. We have been cussed and threatened over the years while being praised by others. The main thing is we are for the animals no matter what. Most know we are located in a tiny population 363 town in Dallas County without even a gas station. We spend hours weekly on the road traveling to vet appointments, rescuing animals, and shopping for needed items for animals.
Aftercare:
Each animal that arrives aftercare is a must. From the smallest puppy to the largest horse care is needed daily.
Feral animals
All feral animals are worked with daily. They can not help they were born to the streets and have tons to learn.
Rescues all operate differently. What works for some do not work for others. MMAR focuses on health, teaching trust, spay/neuter, and finding amazing homes. We have animals that arrived feral and after a year or so are still half that way. Do we give up? Absolutely not. They deserve a place to live that provides proper care and are welcome to stay as long as they need to.
Rumors, gossip, and drama are what we have no time for. Our page has been and will always be drama free.
All animals deserve a chance, and while all animals are voiceless they do have rights and laws. With this said our voices will NEVER stop being heard
Donations are asked for. There is no way we could help animals in need without our donors and supporters. We house up to 100 animals monthly. Vetting, medical orders, transport fuel, feed, farrier, etc are costly. We never know what our day will bring and face challenges daily. Like most rescues we struggle, but leaving hurt/injured animals on the streets is what we will not do.
